The Feet in DeFeet: Custom Sock Customer Outdoors for All Foundation
Outdoors for All Foundation is an incredible nonprofit organization based in Seattle, WA. Each year, they enrich the lives of over 3,000 children and adults with disabilities through adaptive recreation. Their 900 strong volunteer corps and 21 staff members work hard to help individuals with disabilities and their families get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
We’re honored to count Outdoors for All Foundation among our roster of stellar customers. We recently connected with Marissa Bower, Events & Marketing Director for Outdoors for All Foundation to hear about the role DeFeet custom socks play in supporting their work.
Tell us about you and your foundation!
The Outdoors for All Foundation transforms lives through outdoor recreation. Founded in 1979 in the Pacific Northwest, Outdoors for All is a national leader in delivering adaptive and therapeutic recreation for children and adults with disabilities. Each year more than 3,000 individuals exercise their abilities thanks to the training and support of more than 850 volunteers. Outdoors for All enriches the lives of individuals with disabilities and families and helps them to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. Outdoors for All’s programs includes snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, youth and adult day camps, yoga, military programs, weekend excursions and custom events.
How do you use your custom socks?
We offer custom socks to participants and volunteers who take part in our cycling programs. Our cycling program features over 200 adaptive cycles—one of the largest fleets in the country!
Tell us about the meaning behind your sock design.
Our design features topographic map lines, which are highlighted throughout our branding. The lines represent the journey of each of our participants and volunteers when they participate in our organizational mission.
Why did you order custom socks?
We look for unique, yet functional items to highlight our brand and support folks in feeling ready to spend a day outdoors. Socks have been a great way for us to share excitement for our cycling programs and get more individuals wearing our logo.

Which sock silhouette did you choose?
We chose the 6” Aireator and it has been perfect for us!

We always get an enthusiastic response about the socks. Everyone has been excited to get a new piece of swag and stoked about the uniqueness of the design.
