Paul Sherwen Project Update

Prior to 2019, most Americans watching the broadcast of the Tour de France were treated to the announcing duo of Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen. The two men, deftly playing off one another in their endearing British accents filled the morning background noise of households and businesses for most of July each year. Together, they comprised what will likely be remembered as the cycling broadcast equivalent of The Beatles.

Paul Sherwen passed away suddenly in December, 2018 at his home in Kampala in Uganda, Africa. In his memory, his wife Katherine started the Paul Sherwen Project to support young women in Uganda, a land and population that Paul loved.

Shortly thereafter, Katherine and DeFeet got together and created a custom Paul Sherwen Project sock to sell and raise funds to construct a new vocational school for young women.

Six years on, we are so happy to share what the PSP has accomplished. The vocational school has been constructed, complete with 'Liggett Hall'. This is a tremendous achievement and success for the PSP. We are also excited to report that the custom DeFeet Paul Sherwen Project socks are still available on defeet.com with proceeds going toward the continued growth of the PSP.

Not only is this very special Tour de France jersey themed Paul Sherwen Project sock available for sale, DeFeet is adding another bonus to anyone who purchases the sock between now and July 14th as well as between now and July 30th:

One winner will be randomly selected from all those who purchase at least one pair of these DeFeet Custom Shop Paul Sherwen Project Aireator socks to sit in on the exclusive upcoming PSP Zoom calls with Phil Liggett himself. On July 8th, the Zoom call with Phil will feature actor Ben Stiller. On July 15th, the call features NBC Tour de France broadcaster Christian Van de Velde and on July 31st the Zoom call will be a special Paris Olympics edition. DeFeet has one entry to both the July 15th and July 31st Zoom calls. This special $300 ticket will go to the randomly selected winner from those who order PSP socks, so make sure to add them to your cart to secure your chance to be one of the two lucky winners! Winners will chosen the day before each call. Drawings will take place at 4pm Eastern Time on July 14th and July 30th with winner notification and Zoom call login details following shortly thereafter.
