PrintMySock™

Design One or More Pairs of Custom Socks

Custom socks have been a part of the DeFeet DNA, since 1992. With the PrintMySock customizer, now anyone can design their own DeFeet socks and purchase just a single pair. Our customizer is easy to use for the non-designer, and includes the option to choose colors, patterns, and text to design your sock, or download the template and use your own design program to create your perfect sock.

STEP 1: Choose a Sock

PrintMySock is currently available on two silhouettes:

The All Day is a padded, ribbed, crew-length comfortable cozy sock ideal for hiking, traveling, or daily use, knit with recycled performance fiber manufactured to be moisture-wicking with adaptive warming and cooling. Suitable for the active lifestyle of adventurers.

The Levitator Lite is a thin, compressive sock with a no-feel toe seam and an open mesh weave around the entire foot, providing a lighter feel for cycling in high temperatures or extreme terrain. Knit with recycled performance fiber manufactured to be moisture-wicking with adaptive warming and cooling.

COMING SOON: The Evo Mont Ventoux, our lightweight and compressive pro-level sock, knit from performance fiber and engineered with a 360° vent grid for maximized ventilation and moisture wicking.

STEP 2: Design Your Sock

In the design portal, you have four optional areas of customization: Design, Text, Logos, and Size.

“Paint by Number” offers preset designs to customize; “Upload Your Own Design” allows you to upload a large jpg or png.

Optional text can be added to the top, sides, or bottom of the foot. Logos can be added in four different locations: the front, back, or sides of the cuff at the top of the sock, and at the top of the foot. Socks are available in four sizes, from small to extra-large.

Not a designer? "Paint by Number" includes colors, patterns, and text to select to design your sock.

Have a design in mind? Click Upload Your Own Design and download the template. Use your own design program to create your perfect sock.  Knitted designs will not look as crisp as your digital proof, due to the fuzziness of the sock fiber.

STEP 3: Submit Your Design

Once the sock looks right, select your size and desired quantity and add them to the cart.

Multiple Sizes

To order additional socks in the same design but different sizes, click on the sock in the cart to be taken back to the customized design. From there you can select a different size and quantity, and add to the cart.

STEP 4: Your Socks are Knitted and Printed at DeFeet

The final design is printed onto DeFeet socks with a 360° sublimation printer onsite at the microsockery.

The printing process uses heat to ensure the ink is fully absorbed into the sock, resulting is a high-quality reproduction with no break in the design.

STEP 5: Your Socks Ship Out

Turnaround time generally takes about a week, from sock creation to print, package, and ship.

DESIGN BEST PRACTICES

GO BOLD

Small details like thin text, narrow outlines, or small images get lost in the printing process, especially with the nature of fuzzy sock fiber. Tiny detailed images will look blurry; thin lines may disappear where the ink saturates the sock fiber.

FULL COVERAGE

A full coverage all-over design with vibrant high-contrast color reproduces better than a single image on a white background. During the printing process some overspray can get on the white sock, making it appear to be slightly grey.

QUALITY

Higher resolution and better quality art will make better socks. Low resolution images off the internet can result in blurry or fuzzy art on the sock.

COLOR MATCHING

Due to the variable nature of computer and phone color displays, we cannot guarantee color matching to the digital proof. The only way to color match is with yarns in custom knitted socks (ordering available in quantities of 5 dozen+).

Your design is printed on a white sock. This means dark colors like black may not have the same saturation as black yarn.
